The Six Flags Great Escape's Sky Ride is open again.
The slow-moving, gondola-style ride closed last weekend after a 14-year-old Delaware girl fell out of one of the brightly-colored cars.
Maintenance and safety engineers — plus members of the state Department of Labor — checked out the ride.
"The ride was inspected and cleared to resume operation with no modifications necessary," read a statement issued by the Queensbury amusement park. "However, out of an abundance of caution, we have added an additional positioning bar on the restraint that is placed between the riders' legs."
The girl fell 25 feet last Saturday night. When ride operators learned she was in danger of falling, they stopped the ride. She was caught by Matthew Howard Sr., 47, of Schenectady, and his daughter Leann Winchell, 21. Video of the incident went viral.
The girl did not suffer any serious injuries.
The Sky Ride has been in operation at the park for the past 45 years.
