MILTON — A man who police said forged several checks and tried to escape arrest is facing felony charges after being apprehended Sunday.

Stephen Allen Jr., 30, of Rock City Road, was arrested at his home following a brief foot chase and was charged with five counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies said. He was arrested on a warrant.

Deputies said Allen forged several checks at town locations from May 7 through May 9. Investigators believe he may have forged more checks during that time.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call deputies at 885-6761.

Allen was arraigned by Milton Town Justice Timothy Brown and was sent to Saratoga County jail without bail, deputies said. He is due back in Town Court on July 18.
