Woman lying on road, man helping her are struck by car in Stillwater

Injuries not considered life-threatening

Two people, a woman lying on the road and a man attempting to get her off the road, were struck by a car early today in the town of Stillwater.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said Sayne Pendergast, 22, and Sandra Laske, 23, both of Stillwater, were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.

Police said a car driven by Nicole Breault, 33, of Athens, N.Y., was traveling southeast on Route 76 when it struck Pendergast and Laske. Breault was not injured.

Police said pedestrian error was the cause of the collision.
