Police: Man drove stolen car, ran from traffic stop

SCHENECTADY — An Albany man in a stolen car fled a traffic stop on foot, then refused to get fingerprinted, authorities said.

Devon C. Gibson, 45, of South Pearl Street, faces charges of felony criminal possession of stolen property and misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Gibson is accused of driving a stolen Nissan Pathfinder just before 11 p.m. Monday night on State Street. Stopped by officers for an improper signal, Gibson then ran from the scene, according to papers filed in court.

Police caught up with Gibson and arrested him. Police then added another obstruction charge at the station for refusing to complete the booking process, according to papers.

When told he would face the new charge if he didn't complete the process, Gibson responded "I don't give a (expletive), keep piling them on," according to papers.

He also faces infractions of unlicensed operator and unattended vehicle.
