SCHENECTADY — A Rotterdam man broke into a downtown business in June, authorities said.

Donal R. Mason, 29, of Gordon Road, faces one count of third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, and misdemeanor petty larceny. Police arrested him last weekend.

Mason is accused of breaking into Crossroads Gifts & Wellness on Jay Street late on June 25 by smashing the storefront window. Police charged him based on video surveillance, a witness statement and admissions made by Mason, according to papers filed in court.
