MALTA — The Northway has reopened after it was closed in both directions between Exits 12 and 13N on Monday as highway workers cleaned up “an excessive amount of tire debris from a tractor-trailer,” state Trooper Mark Cepiel said.

Cepiel, a department spokesman, said one vehicle either hit or was hit by the tire debris, but no injuries were reported.

“That debris can actually puncture tires because of the metal treads in there,” he said.
