SCHENECTADY  — Rivers Casino & Resort will host its first boxing event Sept. 23.

The event, which the casino is billing as "Rumble on the River," will be headlined by an eight-round bout between local undefeated lightweight fighter Will Madera, of Albany, and lightweight Gabriel Duluc, of Boston.

There will be six other fights on the undercard, including the pro debut of local super lightweight Ray Jay Burmudez, of Albany.

Tickets, which start at $40, are on sale through the Proctors box office via phone, mail or in person, and online at proctors.org. ARES Promotions of Albany is organizing the bouts.

“I’m proud to announce the first-ever live boxing action here at Rivers Casino,” said Rivers Casino & Resort General Manager Mary Cheeks. “We just concluded a visit by the nationally televised "Poker Night in America," and Rumble on the River is yet another example of Rivers' bringing new, exciting entertainment options to the Capital Region."

More information about the event, including a full fight card, will be available online at riverscasinoandresort.com.
