High school roundup: Schoharie girls remain unbeaten

Katie Krohn’s hat trick propelled undefeated Schoharie over Middleburgh 5-0 in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer game Wednesday.

Carrie Krohn and Addie Cornell also scored for the Indians, who moved to 7-0 (6-0 WAC) with the victory.

Galway defeated Oppeneheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville 3-0. Callia Boudreau, Sarah Ernst and Leah Vanderhorst had goals for the Golden Eagles.

Sydney Weingart and Abby Smith each scored twice to lead Canajoharie to a 5-0 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo. Taya Yacobucci contributed a goal and an assist in the victory.

Schalmont shut out Lansingburgh 3-0 for a Colonial Council win. Isabella Almodovar collected a goal and an assist, while Sarah Benson and Kaylie Older each tallied a goal for the Sabres.

Ava Panto recorded a hat trick to lead Holy Names over Cobleskill-Richmondville 5-1. Panto also assisted on a goal scored by Megan Marini late in the first half.

Natlie Ricci’s two-goal effort guided Cohoes past Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 6-0. Caileigh Miron contributed a goal and two assists to the victory. Sam Dayter recorded an 11-save shutout.

Stillwater defeated Hoosic Valley 5-1 in Wasaren League play. Brooke Pickett scored three goals, while Teya Staie added a goal and an assist for the Warriors.

Mackenzie Bowie’s four-goal, two-assist performance helped Mechanicville top Emma Willard 6-1. Brynn Murphy chipped in two goals and an assist for the Raiders.

Miranda Seacord and Taylor Stallmer both scored twice in Cambridge’s 4-1 win over Tamarac. Vicky Dupuis made 10 saves in net for the Indians. Lauren Lockrow scored the Tamarac goal.

Heatly earned a 3-2 Central Hudson Valley League vic­tory over Doane Stuart. Morgan Razzano recorded her third hat trick of the season, accounting for all three Heatly goals.

Abby Burns’ three-goal peformance aided Troy in a 3-0 non-league win over Broadalbin-Perth. Maddie Rifenberick made 13 saves and collected the shutout for the Flying Horses.

Schuylerville and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake played to a scoreless non-league draw. Caitlin Kelleher made 17 saves for the Black Horses. Anna Scott (five saves) and Brittany Grippo (four saves) combined for the Spartan shutout.

Lucia Liverio scored four goals and led Amsterdam over Fonda-Fultonville 5-4 in overtime. Emma Petrie had the Amsterdam goal, and assisted on three others. Jarey-Marie Aponte made 20 saves for the Rams. 

BOYS’ SOCCER
Backed by a two-goal performance from Kevin Kampula, Albany defeated Schenectady 4-0 in the Suburban Council. Marcelo Fazio assisted on three of the Falcons’ goals. Mohammed Alsamaraae and Paul Criscione also scored for Albany.

Ryan Edwards (three goals, one assist) led Schalmont to an 8-0 Colonial Council victory over Lansingburgh. Luca Santabarbara added a pair of goals and Andrew Kessler collected two assists.

LaSalle doubled up Cobleskill-Richmondville 4-2. Andrew Tracy and Daniel Hotaling had goals for the Bulldogs. 

Cohoes edged Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 3-2. Jarron Frangie scored two goals for the Tigers. Ravena’s Chris Miller also scored twice.

Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville topped Galway 4-0 for a Western Athletic Conference win. Jack Brundage scored twice for OESJ, which improved to 5-1 with the win.

Skyler Jankowski scored twice in Schoharie’s 2-0 win over Middleburgh. Jacob Fagnani recorded a 14-save shutout for the Indians.

Mayfield topped Fort Plain 1-0. Daniel Leach’s goal in the 15th minute proved to be the difference.

Conor Barber assisted on both of Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ goals in a 2-1 win over Northville. James Kim and Wil Lawson were the goal scorers for the Golden Knights.

Loudonville Christian School beat Mekeel Christian Academy 5-1. Yan Soe tallied a goal and an assist for LCS. Lens Lima scored the only goal for the Lions.

GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

Columbia topped Schenectady 25-14, 25-15, 25-14. Julia Lettrick tallied 14 assists and eight aces for the Blue Devils, while Chesney Romer added eight kills, three aces and seven digs.

Shenendehowa defeated Ballston Spa 25-12, 25-5, 25-12. Shenendehowa’s Mia Waddell collected 13 service, six aces and four digs. Angelina Stila had 27 service points for the Scotties.

Mikayla Burnett had four kills, 18 assists and three aces to lead Loudonville Christian School over Albany Academy 25-22, 20-25, 25-11, 25-22. Sydney Yim added nine kills, five aces and 15 assists.

In the Foothills Council, Hudson Falls beat Gloversville 25-13, 25-15, 25-9. Maddy Avery had 11 digs, two aces and one kill for Gloversville.

Saratoga Central Catholic defeated Waterford-Halfmoon 25-12, 25-14, 25-20 in Wasaren League play. Ani Crocker had 13 digs, 14 service points and five aces for the Saints. Elise Browell added 14 assists, 12 service points and five aces.

Duanesburg earned a Western Athletic Conference win over Fonda-Fultonville 25-14, 25-23, 25-21. Olivia Dykstra recorded nine aces and 11 kills for the Eagles. Erica Schettine added seven kills and 17 assists.

BOYS' VOLLEYBALL
Bethlehem beat Colonie 25-9, 25-12, 25-9 for a Suburban Council victory. Eric Salo collected six kills and Caleb Federman added 17 assists for the Eagles.
