JOHNSTOWN — A Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES Career and Technical Center instructor was arrested Wednesday after Gloversville police said he had sexual contact with a minor.
The alleged sexual contact took place this summer off school grounds, according to police. BOCES was contacted Monday by a community member who reported the relationship, police said. The tip indicated a substitute was allegedly involved, but police determined it was an instructor, who was not identified. The minor's age was not provided.
“This is a highly alarming set of allegations, and we took immediate steps to address it,” BOCES District Superintendent Patrick Michel said in a news release.
The instructor was placed on administrative leave, according to BOCES.
BOCES counselors are available for students in need of support.
