JOHNSTOWN — Two Utica residents are facing charges that accuse them of stealing antiques from a storage unit and selling them to a Johnstown antique dealership, according to a state police report.

Justan E. Knapp, 32, and Violet E. Bienkowski, 51, were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, troopers said.

The duo allegedly stole numerous items with a total value exceeding $6,000 from a storage unit in Dolgeville, Herkimer County, troopers said. The items were located at the Pine Street Antique Gallery in Johnstown, after the gallery bought the items from Knapp and Bienkowski, troopers said.

Knapp and Bienkowski were arragined in Perth Town Court and were sent to Fulton County jail on $2,500 cash bail, troopers said. They are scheduled to appear in Johnstown Town Court on Wednesday to answer the charges, troopers said.
