MOREAU — State police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that has landed one resident in the hospital and another in jail.

Troopers said the shooting happened outside after a dispute between two Laurel Road neighbors about 9:45 p.m.

Joey M. Castro, 24, was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree criminal use of a firearm, both felonies. He was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and sent to Saratoga County jail, troopers said.

Michael Desnoyers, 35, suffered a serious gunshot wound and was flown by medical helicopter to Albany Medical Center, troopers said. He was expected to survive, troopers said.

State police were assisted at the scene by Saratoga County sheriff's deputies and Moreau EMS.

The case was still under investigation, troopers said.
