People need to respect authority

People need to respect authority

Some don't appreciate the freedoms we have

I couldn’t agree more with the opinions of Mr. Bob Belive and Mr. Robert Mangino in the Oct. 7 opinion page.

Maybe it’s time to go back to the draft. Instead of being drafted by the NFL and making millions of dollars, these players who disrespectfully take a knee should be drafted by the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines. Then they will see what it’s like to lose a knee or arm or life fighting for that right to express themselves. A lot of blame for what’s going on belongs in many places. Too much education money is spent on sports instead of education.

Blaming the police for doing their job. Politicians giving everything for free, just to win votes for their party.

Remember that saying, give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.

Give a man a welfare check, you feed him for a month. Make him go to work, you feed him for life. It also keeps him busy and less likely to get in trouble.

Wake up, America. It’s time to get back to the days when you went to school to learn and not just play ball. It’s time to respect those in authority, not condemned them for doing their job. If you don’t do the crime you won’t do the time. It’s time for political leaders to do what’s right for all legal Americans, not just win votes for their party.
