Moriah Formica advanced to the next round on NBC's "The Voice" on Monday night by outdueling fellow contestant Shilo Gold in a rendition of The Guess Who's "American Woman."

Formica, a 16-year-old Shaker High School student, wowed the judges.

"You are a rock goddess," said Miley Cyrus, who has Formica as a member of her Team Miley.

The comments on Formica's performance flowed in to YouTube, her Facebook page and many places online and in social media.

Some comments from YouTube:

"Shilo is a good singer. But Moriah though, that girl can sing & she's only 16?!? That's insane."

"Shilo has one of the coolest voices I've ever heard, but I feel like this performance exposed her limited range. That gave Moriah, who was killing it, the edge."

"Heck, forget about winning 'The Voice,' these two really need to form a new and current rock band. We currently don't have an electrifying female duo rock band/group like these two right now."

Charlie Mason, writing at tvline.com, gave Formica an "A" grade, saying: "Moriah went together with the song like rock goes with roll. And when Miley armed the 16-year-old with a guitar … yeah, if I were Shilo, I’d have been nervous, too. Once they hit the stage, they only had to sing a line apiece before I said, weirdly aloud, “It’s over."
