Jaylin Sykes drove home the deciding goal in overtime penalty kicks as Shenendehowa got past Fayetteville-Manlius in a Class AA regional soccer game Saturday at Colonie High School. The score was 1-1 after regulation and overtime.

Shenendehowa advances to the state final four and will play the Long Island champion (Uniondale or Half Hollow Hills West) Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at Middletown High School.

Fayetteville-Manlius of Section III got a first-half goal from Riley Burke. Shenendehowa tied it in the second half on a goal by Ethan Behan.

Greg Monroe made 16 saves for the Plainsmen.

Giovanni Gomez scored two goals, and Anthony Carlucci and Logan Groat also connected, in Ichabod Crane’s 4-0 Class B regional win over Saranac.

Queensbury beat Franklin Academy 2-1 in a Class A regional. Lake Placid eliminated Section II Class C regional representative Maple Hill 1-0 in overtime.

Girls’ soccer

Brooke Pickett and Teya Staie both scored twice, and Stillwater rolled to a 7-1 Class C regional win over Northern Adirondack at Plattsburgh High School.

Paige Brinsko, Kaelyn Peacock and Devon Wagner had the other goals for Stillwater.

Stillwater will play Elmira Notre Dame Saturday at 3 p.m. in a state semifinal game at Homer High School.
Baldwinsville beat Shenendehowa 2-1 in a Class AA regional.

Football

SCHUYLERVILLE — Colton Dean ran for four touchdowns, and Cambridge avenged a Week 5 loss with a 40-7 rout of Greenwich in the Section II Class D championship game.

Greenwich (9-1) had beaten Cambridge (9-1) 43-38 as part of its climb to the No. 2 state ranking, and the Indians put up 33 first-half points as part of the rematch victory, the 200th for Indians’ head coach Doug Luke.

Dean ran 21 times for 158 yards, and Tommy English ran 22 times for 140 yards with a touchdown. Reese Cristaldi paced Greenwich with 113 rushing yards on 23 carries.

Cambridge won the 2016 Section II Class D title as part of its drive to the state championship. Greenwich won Section II Class C titles in 2016 and 2015.
