A man accused in a spate of Red Bull thefts in Saratoga Springs has been arrested, state police said Tuesday.

Donald J. Gendron III, 32, of Schroon Lake, was arrested Monday and charged with four counts of petit larceny.

Gendron is accused of stealing a large amount of Red Bull on four occasions from two Saratoga County Price Choppers, starting in July. When the investigation went viral in the local media, a friend of Gendron's asked if the alleged thief was him, and Gendron turned himself in, troopers said.

Gendron is expected to appear in Clifton Park Town Court on Nov. 15 and Malta Town Court on Nov. 16.
