Politicians work for electorate not the party

According to The Gazette, Denise Murphy McGraw greeted Yasmine Syed with a partisan challenge, saying the Dems still have control and nothing is going to change. This sounds like Washington, D.C., where political conflicts have paralyzed the legislative process. Politicians, please remember you are working for the electorate, not for your political party.

So let’s try that welcome again with, “Welcome supervisor-elect. Niskayuna is a great place. How can we work together to keep it that way?”

I’m a registered voter but I don’t belong to any political party. I’m old enough to remember when politicians worked together to accomplish great things for this country.

I dread the thought of the Washington, D.C., morass smothering the town where I have lived for more than 40 years.
