ALBANY — A Schenectady man set fire to a door inside a Madison Avenue building Friday, police said.

Brian Kimball, 33, faces one count of second-degree arson.

He is accused of setting the fire at a home in the 1000 block of Madison Avenue. The caller referred to an emotionally disturbed man inside who set the fire to the door frame of an occupied apartment, police said.

Officers arrived and alerted the fire department. The fire was quickly doused. Police found Kimball in an apartment near the scene and took him into custody, police said. No injuries were reported.

Police determined Kimball knew the people who lived in the apartment and set fire to the door as part of an ongoing feud.
