No more partisan politics in Niskayuna

Partisan politics should end

After the election in the race for Niskayuna supervisor, Town Board Member Lisa Weber offered the following assessment of Supervisor-elect Yasmine Syed’s qualifications: “I think having an incoming supervisor coming in with no public policy or public administration experience is an issue.”

And Denise Murphy McGraw, deputy town supervisor, offered, “I’m prepared to lead the governing majority on the town board.”

The voters have a different perspective. Voters elected Ms. Syed to lead the board at Town Hall, and as a senior budget analyst with Albany Med, she is more than qualified to do that.

Further, voters expect professionalism at Town Hall going forward — not the partisan politics that followed the election.
