SCHENECTADY — The Foundation for Ellis Medicine's 36th Annual Cardiac Classic will begin at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

The event includes a 2-mile wellness walk — starting at 8 a.m. — and a 5K road race — for runners only — that starts at 9 a.m. Both races start and finish at the Central Park Pavilion in Schenectady.

There is also a 1-mile Duck Pond Fun Run that starts at 10 a.m.

The event, which benefits the Visiting Nurse Service of Northeastern NY, an affiliate of Ellis Medicine, draws more than 1,600 people to Central Park each year.

Registration is required; there will be no day-of registration available. Online registration, which closes Tuesday, can be completed at raceentry.com. A link to the registration page is also available at ellismedicine.org/cardiac-classic.

People can also register in person between 2 and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ellis’ McClellan Street Health Center, 600 McClellan St.

The cost to participate in the wellness walk is $20 per person, and the 5K is $30 per person. Team registrations are also available.
