ROTTERDAM — A man who implied he had a weapon robbed an Altamont Avenue bank Tuesday and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, according to town police.

A man entered Pioneer Savings Bank, 1828 Altamont Ave., after 4:45 p.m. and handed a teller an envelope demanding money, police said. He implied he had a weapon, police said, but no weapon was displayed.

The suspect fled after being handed the envelope, police said. He was last seen going southbound on Elizabeth Street, police said.

He is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s and about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a dark brown knit snow hat, dark sunglasses, a black jacket, black gloves and a black ski mask.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department's Detective Division at 518-355-7397.
