SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Retired educator Jon Hunter, of Ballston Lake, is expected to take over as the South Glens Falls School District's interim superintendent on Jan 1.
The announcement was made Wednesday by the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex Board of Cooperative Educational Services.
Hunter, who has served in top administrative jobs at upstate districts, is expected to be appointed to the temporary job later this month and take over until the district appoints a permanent superintendent.
Current South Glens Falls Superintendent Michael Patton will leave the district after the holidays to become superintendent in Saratoga Springs.
Hunter will be paid $500 per day and will serve until a new superintendent is hired, according to the BOCES statement.
