ALBANY — Ten students were arrested Thursday after fights outside Albany High School, a district spokesman said.
The school dismissed students about 15 minutes early after an unannounced fire drill, said Ron Lesko, City School District of Albany spokesman.
Fights broke out, resulting in the arrest of 10 students and one student being hospitalized with a nose injury, Lesko said.
"The student behavior that led to Thursday's early dismissal is completely unacceptable and we will not tolerate it," he said. "We are continuing to investigate and will strictly follow our disciplinary procedures for any students who we determine had some role in the incident."
The school will be closed Friday while police investigate the fights, according to the district website.
