SCHENECTADY COUNTY — Schenectady County is making $60,000 in grants available to arts organizations this year, under the County Initiative Arts Program, county officials said Monday.

The funding is the most ever offered through the program, exceeding the $50,000 made available last year. The money comes from a portion of the county's hotel/motel room occupancy tax, and the county added hundreds of new hotel rooms in 2017.

Organizations serving Schenectady County are eligible to apply. The funds are available for projects that take place between April 1 and March 31, 2019. The application deadline is Feb. 14.

Additional consideration will be given to organizations that collaborate with other Schenectady County non-profits, and to those that are involved with special events.

Complete guidelines, applications and eligibility requirements are available on the county website, schenectadycounty.com/CIP. Applications are available by emailing [email protected], calling 518-388-4772, or in person at the county Legislature Office, sixth floor, 620 State St., Schenectady.
