HALFMOON — A Schenectady man is facing charges after state police said he twice left the Halfmoon Walmart without paying for merchandise with a total value of more than $2,500.

Paul P. Gagnon filled a cart with items valued at a total of $1,366 and exited the store on Jan. 3 without paying for them, troopers said on Wednesday.

Gagnon returned to the store Monday and tried to leave with $1,288 worth of items but was detained in the parking lot by security, troopers said.

He was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Gagnon, whose age was not provided, was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and was sent to Saratoga County jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
