David Mastrianni, a Saratoga Springs oncologist, has announced that he’s running against Republican incumbent Elise Stefanik, in the 21st Congressional District.

Mastrianni is senior vice president of the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group.

The 21st Congressional District encompasses Clinton, Franklin, St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Lewis, Hamilton, Essex, Warren, Washington and Fulton counties, and portions of Saratoga and Herkimer counties.

Mastrianni joins eight other Democratic candidates who are seeking the party’s nomination, including Don Boyajian of Cambridge, Tedra Cobb of Canton, Tanya Boone of Granville, Sara Idleman of Greenwich, Katie Wilson of Keene, Emily Martz of Saranac Lake, Patrick Nelson of Stillwater and Ronald Kim of Queensbury.

Lisbon resident Russell Finley is running in the Republican primary.
