AMSTERDAM — A Schenectady woman is accused of throwing an infant across a car during a roadside argument in Amsterdam, state police said.

Diamond T. Wallace, 23, of Schenectady, was arguing with her mother while on State Route 5 in Amsterdam and had jumped out of their car when police pulled up, state police said. During an interview with a trooper, Wallace allegedly became more upset, and then threw her nearly 6-month-old child, who was secured in a car seat, across the car at the trooper, state police said.

Wallace was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct, state police said. The infant was unharmed and left in the care of Wallace's mother.

Wallace was released with an appearance ticket returnable to Amsterdam Town Court, state police said.
