QUEENSBURY -- Melissa Taggert of Shenendehowa won the girls' giant slalom, and the Shenendehowa boys copped both team titles at the Section II Alpine skiing championships Tuesday at West Mountain.

Taggert went 58.22 to edge Queensbury's Maddie Montgomery (58.50) in the giant slalom. Hannah Klingbiel of Schuylerville won the slalom (44.55) ahead of Montgomery and Taggert, respectively.

Queensbury won the girls' giant slalom team title in a tie-breaker over Saratoga Springs and Shenendehowa, and Emma Willard won the slalom team title.

The Shenendehowa boys finished ahead of Niskayuna to secure their giant slalom and slalom team titles. Hunter Montgomery of Queensbury had the fastest times in both races.
