MECHANICVILLE — A second defendant charged with the murder of a man in Mechanicville pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Friday. His co-defendant pleaded guilty two weeks ago.
Nikolai Mavashev, 19, of Halfmoon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
He admitted to intentionally causing the death of David Feliciano on Aug. 7, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office.
Mavashev admitted to police that he shot Feliciano with a revolver in Feliciano's home.
Joseph A. Broscko, now 17, pleaded guilty on Feb. 7, and as part of his plea agreement he was to cooperate in the prosecution of Mavashev.
"With their guilty pleas to murder in the second degree, Mavashev and Broscko both admitted they acted in concert on Aug. 7, 2017 when they robbed and killed David Feliciano in his home," Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen said in a press release. "The evidence shows they shot him multiple times with an unregistered .38-caliber pistol, stole his property and fled out of state in an attempt to avoid apprehension."
The maximum possible term for second-degree murder is 25 years to life; the minimum is 15 to life.
Mavashev and Broscko are scheduled to be sentenced on April 18.
