Public's help sought in Glenville suspect search

Officer injured in incident

GLENVILLE  -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Northville man they say fled a traffic stop and injured an officer.

Police identified the suspect as William G. Edwards, 37, of 319 Ridge Road.

Police stopped Edwards just after 2 p.m. Thursday in the area of Wolf Hollow Road. The officer spotted a large quantity of what appeared to be cocaine in the vehicle. Edwards, however, fought with the officer, pulled away and fled into the nearby swamp, police said. The officer suffered minor injuries.

Police continued to look for him Friday.

Residents are asked to call 911 if they spot Edwards or if any suspicious persons are seen in the area. He was last seen wearing an all-white outfit and blue shoes. He is believed to have discarded some of his clothing and shoes.

He is described as a white male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall with brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Glenville detective Tim Mell at 518-384-0135.
