ALBANY -- A Ballston Spa man was sentenced to eight years in federal prison after he admitted to possessing more than 14,000 photos and videos of child pornography, U.S. attorney's officials said.
Damian Quillinan, 44, pleaded guilty in November to one federal count of possessing and receiving child pornography, prosecutors said.
He admitted he used his phone in July 2016 to download files containing child pornography and saved those photos to a memory card, prosecutors said. He also admitted he downloaded and stored the 14,000 images and videos on various computers and hard drives at his residence between February 2014 and August 2016.
Judge Mae A. D'Agostino is to sentence Quillinan Tuesday to the prison term, as well as a lifetime of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the FBI and New York State Police and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Emmet O'Hanlon.
