SCHENECTADY — Two "high tech" credit-card skimming devices were found at a Sunoco gas station, police said.

Employees of the gas station, at 127 Erie Boulevard, located one of the skimming devices inside one of the gas pumps during routine service on March 7, police said. The second skimming device was found on subsequent inspection. The two devices were found in pumps 1 and 3, the two closest to Erie Boulevard.

Police said the skimming devices were "high tech," and have been handed over to the United States Secret Service for analysis. It is unknown when the devices were placed in the gas pumps, police said.

Police advised anyone who may have used the gas pumps prior to March 7 to contact their credit card company and monitor their statements. If fraudulent activity is discovered, police ask victims to file a police report.

Police are also asking all gas stations in the city to visually inspect the inside and outside of their gas pumps to ensure they haven't been tampered with.
