SARATOGA SPRINGS — More than 8,000 people are expected to gather in the Saratoga Springs City Center this weekend for the 13th annual Adirondack Sports Summer Expo.
The event features 150 exhibitors covering health, fitness, green living and travel in upstate New York.
Darryl Caron, owner and manager of the Adirondack Sports Summer Expo, said the event was launched 13 years ago as a way to bring the Adirondack Sports magazine to life.
"There was no show for Adirondack sports enthusiasts," he said. "The summer expo focuses on spring and summer sports to get people excited about the upcoming season.
"It's held in March because people have cabin fever and want to get out on the lakes and trails."
The expo is free to attend and boasts a 25-foot rock climbing wall, rowing, simulated canoeing and disc golf.
There will also be outdoor gear, clothing and footwear for sale, as well as discounted registration for upcoming races in the Capital Region, including the Freihofer's Run for Women 5K.
Beer sampling from Shmaltz and New Belgium brewing companies will also be offered.
The expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
