JONESVILLE — Saratoga County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a car accident in which a pedestrian was killed Tuesday evening.

The pedestrian, Nancy H. Berlin, 77, of Main Street, Clifton Park, was struck on Main Street in Jonesville at around 7:30 p.m., by a 2008 Toyota Prius sedan driven by Victor A. Temple of Main Street, Clifton Park. according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ellis Hospital, according to the report.

The sheriff's office said that pedestrian error was determined to be the cause of the collision. 

Though the investigation is continuing, deputies said drugs and alcohol use are not suspected to have played a role in the crash. Witnesses to the crash also indicated speed was not a factor, according to the report.

Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by Ballston Lake EMS and Jonesville Fire Department.
