SARATOGA COUNTY -- Work to replace two bridges over the Northway will require lane closures this week, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.

The bridges carrying Crescent Avenue in Saratoga Springs and East High Street in Malta over the interstate are being replaced under an $8 million state Department of Transportation contract.

Two lanes will be closed at various locations along I-87 between exits 12 and 14, as a result of the bridge work. The closures will allow for the removal of steel as the bridge replacement effort continiues.

Full closures of the highway -- for up to 15 minutes at a stretch -- are also likely between midnight and 6 a.m., according to the DOT.
