LOUDONVILLE — The school announced Monday that three players are leaving the Siena College women’s basketball program.

Two of the players, junior Hayley Winter and sophomore Anna Lundquist, are planning to return to their native countries. Winter is from Australia, while Lundquist is from Sweden.

Meanwhile, freshman Candela Hermida — who is from Spain — plans to transfer to another school in the United States.

“While I am disappointed with these departures, I fully support Hayley, Anna and Candela pursuing their academic and athletic interests closer to home or at a U.S. school that fits their goals better,” Siena head coach Ali Jaques said in a statement released through the school.  “They will always be members of the Siena family and I wish them the best.”

Neither Hermida nor Lundquist were significant contributors this past season for Siena, while Lundquist was a key reserve for the Saints. Lundquist averaged 5.1 points per game during the 2017-18 season and made a team-high 34 3-pointers.

Siena went 17-14 last season.
