GLOVERSVILLE — A city man was arrested Tuesday on charges that accuse him of physically abusing a kitten.

Police charged Steven J. Riach, 30, of Fox Street, with aggravated cruelty to animals. The charge is a felony under state agriculture and markets law.

on the afternoon of April 24, Riach struck the kitten and threw it, after it had "sprayed" a wall at Riach's residence, police said. The kitten was unable to walk or move after being thrown, according to police and city animal control officers

Police added that the kitten's condition improved after it received care from local veterinarians.
