Tornado watch and wind advisory in effect

A tornado watch in effect until 10 p.m. on Friday and wind advisory until 8 a.m. Saturday

A tornado watch is in effect for 11 counties, including Saratoga, Washington, Warren and Fulton counties, until 10 p.m. on Friday. 

A wind advisory was also in effect from 8 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday for the western and southern Adirondacks, portions of Lake George and Saratoga County, as well as the Mohawk Valley, Schoharie Valley, and Helderbergs. 

Wind gusts from 25 to 35 mph are expected and could reach up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. 

Downed trees and power lines could result. 

The National Weather Service urges drivers to exercise extreme caution.
