GLOVERSVILLE -- A Gloversville man is behind bars after police said he stabbed a man in the neck on Friday.

The victim was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital for treatment and was later released.

Elijah N. Jacobs, of 5 Fremont St., faces one count of second-degree assault, a felony.

He is accused of stabbing the man Friday at about 4 p.m. on Bloomingdale Avenue. Police did not describe the incident further in a release but said officers soon identified Jacobs as the suspect and arrested him in the area.

Jacobs was arraigned and ordered held without bail due to two prior felony convictions, police said.
