LATHAM — An indoor entertainment facility is proposed for construction near Albany International Airport.
The 25,000-square-foot building would include about 10,000 square feet dedicated to laser tag, mini bowling and other activities. Other space would be used for kitchens, lounges, cafe seating and party rooms.
The proposal was put before the Colonie Planning Board by Ferraro Entertainment, which operates a similar business on Route 9 in Queensbury called The Fun Spot.
Ferraro proposes to merge four lots totaling 7.17 acres at the corner of Sicker and Albany-Shaker Roads into a single parcel. It would demolish two of the five main buildings onsite and three of the six outbuildings. Three single-family houses would remain in place until more parking space was needed.
Ferraro indicates it might seek to construct a second building of nearly 20,000 square feet if the volume of business warrants.
The proposal notes that the four lots are partly wooded and contain wetlands. It says the site would remain nearly 60 percent green space after the project was completed.
