NISKAYUNA -- A Niskayuna woman illegally received more than $11,000 in unemployment benefits, state police said.

Marianna Lozovsky, 37, faces one count each of third-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and first-degree falsifying business records, all felonies.

The investigation began May 1, after the state Department of Labor passed a complaint to state police about possible unemployment fraud involving Lozovsky. Investigators determined she received benefits while being employed and failed to disclose her employment when when filing for benefits, police said.

Lozovsky was released to return to court later.
