SCHENECTADY -- A city man is facing charges that accuse him of having and promoting child pornography, authorities said.
John A. Cassera, 45, of Corlear Avenue, was arrested Friday on one count each of possession and promotion of a sexual performance by a child, both felonies.
Cassera was arrested after an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force stationed at state police headquarters. He is accused of making child pornography available online in January. The charges are based on a police investigation and statements by Cassera, according to court documents.
