Anti-Trump letters to paper are laughable

John Osterlitz, Glenville

Re May 10 letter, “Trump’s ‘present’ to cost us all plenty”: Humor, takes many forms nowadays. One must check this page out first before going on to the comic page.

It seems that the meltdown over Hillary losing the election by the “Never Trumpers” and the “lefty losers” have provided Gazette readers with rare and enjoyable forms of humor, all from those who blame our president from all that is wrong in the universe to Melania’s shoes.

A case in point: After invoking the Lord (“I sought the Lord and he answered me. He delivered me from all my fears.”), the writer said he was expecting Christmas presents from “the Donald.” He got one. And when he opened it up, he found $870.

He then went on a tear complaining that the cost of living was eating into his $870 and that was just not fair. He then admonished those evil devils in Congress who voted to give him his Christmas present in the first place.

One can imagine if it was raining $100 bills, the writer would like it all in $5’s and $10’s. More comedy can be seen in the almost daily assaults on this president and on our American way of life -- especially when one remembers the song lyric: “Send in the clowns; Don’t bother, they’re here.” Just sayin’. Thank you, Gary and The Gazette. Sign me up another year, please.
