BALLSTON — A crash involving four vehicles at the intersection to state Route 67 and Finley Road in the town of Ballston on Saturday has left two people dead, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department said.

Rescue workers who responded to the crash were forced to use the Jaws of Life tool to free the two occupants of one of the vehicles. The passenger of that vehicle was provided life saving measures and taken to Saratoga Hospital, where he died of his injuries a short time later. The driver of the vehicle was also provided life saving measures but died of her injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Saratoga County Deputy Coroner Anthony Perniciaro.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are a factor in the crash, police said.  The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their families.
