Amsterdam man charged with assault, menacing

Girlfriend was allegedly punched, threatened

A town of Amsterdam man has been charged with striking his girlfriend in the head and pointing a shotgun at her.

State police on Monday arrested Mark Glodny, 33, on misdemeanor counts of assault and menacing. He also was booked on charges of criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers said the incidents took place during a domestic dispute. Glodny allegedly was arguing with his girlfriend and then started to punch her.

Troopers arriving at the scene found a shotgun and a small quantity of marijuana and clonazepam pills.

Glodny was arraigned in Amsterdam Town Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court July 3.
