ROTTERDAM - The boil water order issued for Rotterdam after a Sunday water main break has been lifted, officials said.
The Schenectady County Department of Environmental Health lifted the order as of 8 a.m. Residents are advised to flush their water lines for five minutes as a precaution before drinking or using for cooking, a department advisory said.
The Sunday morning water main break happened Curry Road, near Altamont Avenue. The Department of Environmental Health issued the order shortly afterward.
Town workers fixed the break and restored service to residents, but had to wait until the system passed bacterial tests before the county would clear the water for drinking.
