A moose has been sighted this week in Gloversville, police said.
Police received several reports Monday and Tuesday of the moose inside the city, with an additional sighting Tuesday afternoon.
The sightings were primarily in the southern part of the city, near South Kingsboro Avenue, police said.
Members of the Gloversville Police Department, along with State Police and the New York State Department of Conservation Police responded to tend to the safety of the animal.
Police believe the moose left the city near Steele Avenue Extension. A press release did not indicate whether authorities believe it might return.
