SARATOGA SPRINGS -- City police have made an arrest in a March 2017 knifepoint robbery at an Adirondack Trust Co. branch.
Joseph B. Flower, 36, of Glenville, was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with third-degree robbery, police said. He is accused of robbing the bank branch at Northline Road and Route 50 at mid-day on March 4, 2017.
Police said Flower had been a person of interest since early in the investigation. At the time, Flower was also a person of interest in investigations being conducted by the Rotterdam Police Department, and the two agencies shared information.
The arrest resulted from months of investigation and cooperation between the police agencies and prosecutors, police said.
During the robbery, a man, armed with a knife, approached bank tellers demanding money. He then jumped over the bank counter and took cash from two money drawers, police said. They did not say how much money was taken.
Flower is currently in state prison for a robbery conviction in Albany County, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Service. He was arraigned in City Court and returned to state prison.
