Comic about disease was in poor taste

Comic about disease was in poor taste

Margaret E. Priola, Delanson

I’m writing to express my dismay at the “Pardon My Planet” comic published on June 14 in the Gazette.

While I realize The Gazette isn’t the author of the comic, the comic is in extremely poor taste.

Attempting to make a joke about the female medical condition endometriosis as depicted is a travesty.

As a woman’s healthcare provider, I have seen first-hand the effect this lifelong disease has on young women.

Chronic pain and infertility aren’t laughing matters.

Vic Lee, the comic’s author, should apologize to women for his tasteless attempt at humor.
