Jacob Monday, a Shenendahowa Central High School student and Ballston Spa native who was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in 2016, died Saturday morning.
His death was confirmed via a Facebook page dedicated to the family.
Monday, 16, lived with his mother, Barbara Williams, and his younger brother, Lee. Williams could not be reached on Saturday.
"Let the healing begin," said the Facebook page. "Jacob passed away this morning. He is at peace. He. Is. Finally. At. Peace. There was no one stronger, no one more of a super hero, no one who fought harder, and no one who loved his mother and brother more. Please don’t stop praying. And now we are here for Barb and Lee ... in keeping with Jacob’s Wishes."
In recent months, Monday had stopped treatment for the cancer and instead focused on a bucket list of experiences he wanted to enjoy, including trips and activities and spending time with his family and friends.
In April, he met actor Chris Pratt, who had learned of Jacob's bucket list.
Monday also received an honorary degree from the high school in April.
An online campaign raised more than $43,000 for Monday.
