MS-13/baby cartoon crossed decency line

MS-13/baby cartoon crossed decency line

Carl Strock, Saratoga Springs

I was struck by the June 20 editorial cartoon by Tom Stiglich, showing a fiercely tattooed, gun-brandishing MS-13 gangster holding a baby at the U.S border, claiming to be a loving father indignant at being separated from his newborn son.

Even allowing for the presentation of a range of views, this one must cross some line, implying that a murderous gang member is somehow representative of immigrants who have had their children taken from them at the border.

It is bigoted and ignorant, and in my view ought not to have been afforded the platform of The Gazette.
